Canadian Virtual Bookfair goes live on November 5

AntiqueshowsCanada has produced an online antiques/book fair for a little over a year, the first event running in September, 2020.  The show has had its ups and downs on the antiques side, but antiquarian books and paper have been very strong almost since the beginning. Booksellers regularly sell good books and ephemera at the event, with many instances of books selling in the $2000 to $6000 range.

This book and paper success has led to an effort by Gadsden Promotions, producers of the event, to implement a subtle shift to a greater emphasis on rare books and ephemera.  While antiques are still part of the mix, visitors to the site will observe that books and paper are prominent.

As a result of good sales, the show has been attracting more and more booksellers.  At the core are dealers who belong to ABAC and ILAB.  Alongside these well-known dealers are a number of other booksellers who also deal in very good material.  The online fair has become an event full of welcome surprises.

The November 5 - 7 virtual event will feature an excellent line-up of established booksellers, including a number of ABAC/ILAB members. Bibliophiles and collectors at every level will have an excellent opportunity to inspect a large and varied selection of rare books, maps, prints and ephemera, as well as antiques and collectibles.  Although most participating dealers come from throughout Canada, U.S. dealer are welcome also.  All will happily ship to the USA.

Beginning at 5pm EST on November 5, fair-goers can log on to www.antiqueshowscanada.com.  From the welcome screen buyers then enter the show and will see a list of participating dealers.  By clicking on a dealer name, the shopper can browse that dealer's offerings.  Buyers contact a dealer directly to arrange payment and delivery, or to find out more about an item.  The show site provides large photographs with detailed descriptions. The show will run non-stop until 6pm EST, November 7, 2021.
